Although I hated this rendition of Desmond (in AC3), you pretty much nailed it!

As a side note, I don't believe I'll ever understand exactly why they felt like they had to change Desmond's skull shape and face.

Ha ha, you're right! XD I always struggle a lot when looking for references for the guy, because every time he looks like a different character! D:
And if you like my take on him, even if you hated the rendition of Desmond chosen for the last game, well... that's a super good compliment in my book! Thanks! <:

That looks really sharp. I like the way you used shade at his left side and used darks to create shade in his torso area. It looks good.
